Landsat 7 Picture Mosaic of Australia

The Landsat 7 Picture Mosaic of Australia was produced by the Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) as part of their National Carbon Accounting System. The mosaic is comprised of 369 individual Landsat satellite scenes acquired between July 1999 and September 2000.

Viewing the mosaic

Landsat7 Australia Mosaic

Click on the image at left to view the picture mosaic down to a detail of 300 metre resolution. This broad resolution, combined with image compression, produces a file size suitable for online delivery. Note that our full resolution standard Landsat products are 100 times more detailed, using a 30 metre pixel, and contain a wealth of additional radiometric information from the 8 spectral bands on the Landsat ETM+ sensor.

• Click on the image to open a new window where you can zoom and pan around the mosaic.
• To view the mosaic you will be prompted to download the ECW plugin.

Accessing the mosaic data

The source data used to produce the Landsat 7 Picture Mosaic is available in a range of formats to suit both the novice and professional user:
