This Landsat 5 image shows Brampton (south) and Carlisle (north) Islands, located on the Great Barrier Reef off Mackay, Queensland. Land features (bands 245) and water (bands 123) were enhanced separately and combined in the final image.

Brampton Island is a great place to go for a holiday, a real tropical paradise. Apart from the resort area on Brampton Island the rest of the islands are covered by national park. There is an underwater snorkel trail in the channel between the islands which is at its best at low tide.
