Evolution and metallogenesis of the North Australian Craton

Preliminary information

Cost: $350, includes lunch and morning and afternoon tea daily plus conference dinner

Workshop highlights

Speakers are drawn from Geoscience Australia, Northern Territory Geological Survey, Geological Survey Western Australia, industry and academia.

Day 1: The evolution of the North Australian Craton, and the geology and metallogenesis of the Arunta-Davenport-Tennant Regions and Tennant Inlier
14 sessions from 8:30am to 5:15pm

Day 2: Tanami geology, metallogenesis and seismic survey
14 sessions from 8:30am to 5:30pm

Day 3: Continental-scale drivers for Palaeo- to Mesoproterozoic mineral systems in Australia
Half-day - 7 sessions from 9:00am to close

Field trip: 23-27 June, New developments in the geology and mineral deposits of the eastern Arunta. See itinerary [PDF 12kB]

(Includes stops at Aileron Province-Heavitree unconformity, Arumbera Formation and Todd River Dolomite, Arltunga lode-gold district, Mordor Igneous Complex, Irindina Province, Entia Dome, Molyhil Mo-W skarn deposit and scheelite, garnetamphibole sand dunes, Harts Range Group, Oonagalabi Zn-Cu prospect, Pinnacles Cu district, Johnnie’s Reward Cu-Au-Pb-Zn IOCG prospect, Edwards Creek VHMS prospect, and Nolans Bore REE deposit.
To minimise cost, this field trip will be self-catered with a cap of 20 vehicles.)
